7:00 Ellen Book on Composting in the Garden
Ellen Book, a UF/IFAS Extension Service Master Gardener Volunteer. explains the step-by-step process of turning leaves, branches, paper plates and other recyclables into a rich organic soil amendment we know as compost. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will receive a voucher for a FREE composting bin (one per household, Miami-Dade residents only) provided by the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management. Limited quantities, while supplies last.
7:00 Steve Pearson on “Plants and Sights of Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand.”
Steve Pearson is a founder and past president of TFTS. A long time plant enthusiast, Steve loves to travel, especially in the tropics. During November and December, 2025, he completed a longer journey with travel between Kuala Lampur and Bangkok that was focused on plants and wildlife For our meeting, Steve will share photos of his journey and discuss some of its highlights.
